Eternal Thanks To A Patriot: Dick Hafer (1937-2003)
Members and supporters of JPFO, and literally tens of thousands of other Americans, recognize the work of Dick Hafer. He was the cartoonist and a contributing writer for JPFO's Gran'pa Jack series of booklets (Nos. 1-5 & 8). Outside of JPFO, Dick Hafer was known in the political action community for his signature drawing style and light-hearted lampoon wit.
We at JPFO must sadly report that Dick Hafer passed away on July 5, 2003. Dick was a close working associate on these several projects and a personal friend to us. We already miss him greatly.
Dick deeply believed in the work of JPFO, and was particularly concerned about the danger to human life when growing corrupt governments disarm their citizens. Dick was unafraid to take a principled position -- whether in text or illustrations -- and defend that position with all his great heart and soul. He could focus intently on the seriousness of a matter, and in another moment, laugh heartily at the humor and irony that pop up in the affairs of mankind.
As a committed Christian, Dick believed in a life hereafter, with Heaven as the desired destination. We have little doubt that he is there.
