We offer an excellent new article by David Codrea - Biometric 'Skyfall' gun neither new nor 'smart' - which discusses in some depth the issues surrounding "Smart Guns" and points to an example that is portrayed in the latest Bond film.
'Biometrics' has fast become a buzz-word and the anti-gun brigade fell in love with the concept some time ago, but not considering the broader picture with regard to reliability. Might we see law enforcement taking up "smart guns" - hardly likely!
It is interesting to note adverse comments made about guns by many high level Hollywood actors, including Daniel Craig who is quoted as saying "I hate handguns. Handguns are used to shoot people and as long as they are around, people will shoot each other." Does this not seem the height of hipocricy when an anti-gun actor goes ahead to make a film where the gun is front and center?! Perhaps huge pay checks cancel out the anti-gun syndrome.
Read David's full article, which is quite substantial in length and detail, on its own page here at JPFO.
